Pi Display OS
A modular information display for Raspberry Pi and HUB75 LED panels: clock, countdowns, holidays, custom messages and weather, configured from a web page.

Live games on an LED matrix that take over the display when your team plays, celebrate when they score, and step aside when the game ends.
Secure checkout. You get the download right after purchase.
Recorded from the shipped software in demo mode on a simulated LED panel, with demo data. Not camera footage of physical panels.
This started as a scoreboard for a 256x64 LED wall that has followed four teams across four leagues every day. It shows live MLB (bases, outs, count where the data has it), NFL (possession, down and distance, field position), NHL (shots on goal) and NBA games, plus standings, next-game cards and pregame countdowns.
What sets it apart from a basic score ticker is the priority engine. A live game for one of your teams takes over the display automatically, a score triggers a celebration, an alert can interrupt anything, and when the game ends the display returns to whatever it was showing. All of it runs at a steady 8 frames per second.
The customer version is the Sports Pack for Pi Display OS: an installer, web setup (choose a provider, paste your key, Test Connection, save), layouts for 64x32, 64x64, 128x64 and 256x64, and a demo mode that plays pregame, touchdowns, home runs, goals and finals on demand with no key at all. Team logos aren't bundled; displays use team abbreviations and colours you can edit.
Already running on our own setup. Proven doesn't automatically mean ready for yours: the status above says what's left.
MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA share one team model keyed by league and team id. That's why the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and 76ers never collide, even though they're all "PHI".
A priority ladder decides what's on screen: alerts, then live scoring events, then games you picked, then automatic live games, then pages, then idle rotation.
Bases and outs for baseball; possession, down, distance and field position for football; shots on goal for hockey.
Weather, calendar, standings and upcoming games rotate when nothing is live.
Software ready. Tested in software and simulation: installer, settings, every module, the web page and the MatrixPortal protocol against a simulated device. Not yet tested on physical LED panels by us; hardware results will be listed here once that test has been done.
Per-installation licence for personal use. Commercial venues (bars, offices, client installs) need a commercial licence. Commercial and installer licences are available on request. Full terms.
All updates within the purchased major version (for example 1.x). Major new versions may be a discounted paid upgrade. Current version: 1.0.0. Changelog.
Documentation, a diagnostics report and email support for the tested configurations listed on the page. Report a problem.
Yes, as soon as its Gumroad listing opens. It's an add-on for Pi Display OS, which is sold separately or with it in the Full Pi Display Bundle.
Standard HUB75 RGB panels; layouts are included for 64x32, 64x64, 128x64 and 256x64. Use the free LED matrix power calculator to size a power supply.
Not out of the box. Team logos are trademarks, so the display uses team colors and abbreviations.
For live sports, yes: your own key from BALLDONTLIE (its free tier covers NBA, NFL and MLB games) or API-Sports. Your Pi talks to the provider directly and you accept their terms. Without a key, the full demo game day still runs. Clock, countdowns and US weather need no key.
